Sometimes I'm glad I never listen to people growing up... else I would have missed the greatest failures of my life. What was once a folly of mistakes has turned into one of the greatest values of my life... my careers work. I enjoy things, I enjoy places... all of which would be wooden if I didn't enjoy the people I inhabit with on a daily bases. life is so much sweeter with family and friends; even during your most intolerable failures.

Just a painting for my student film "RABBEAT".
It was around this time, i think, last year that i found out ,I'll be spending my co-op in HoC during summer.
I was thrilled. It was a great experience and i have learned a lot and got to work with truly great people.

Andy Knight

This week one of the really great guys in our industry passed away. Andy Knight who runs Red Rover Animation Studio and who is responsible for numerous acts of great art died in Paris.

It really is hard to believe. You take it for granted that I won't be able to walk down the street and exchange a quick hello any more.

I loved Andy's laid back style (even more laid back than my own) and willingness to share. He gave me my first freelance job when I moved back to Canada. HoC will be forever indebted to Andy for giving us our first big contract. Without his belief in us we would probably be out of business.

He will be missed.

Lumber Jacksons

Everyone check out Lumber Jacksons, an original short the we created and produced for Disney. It features the voice talent of Wayne Brady (Don't Forget the Lyrics). The creative team a HoC really outdid themselves in completing this beautiful short. We are also proud that we used flash in a way that produced a really high quality look. Props go to the Disney team who were great to work with and all the designers and animators especially Cal, Robin, Ben and Matt.

The short can be viewed at www.houseofcoolstudios.com .
